If you have registered for a sport online through CJS in the past, you will use the same login/password. Just please update your cell phone and/or e-mail address if they have changed so that coaches can contact you..

FAQ:

Registration-

1-I registered on time but I have not heard from my child's coach by mid-April.  Who should I contact? All coaches are encouraged to call their players ASAP. If you haven't received your call yet, contact the League Commissioner for your child's league posted on our website

2-Is is too late to register my child for this baseball or softball  season? Check the required registration dates on our website (the flyer is in the news feed). We encourage everyone to register, even if the deadline has passed. However the longer you wait to register the less chance your child has of being placed on a team.

3-How can I help out? Carbondale Jr Sports is a non-for-profit entity.  Our volunteers form a board.  If you would like to join the board, we meet the first Tuesday of every month at 7:15 downstairs at the Life Community Center. In addition, we encourage our parents to volunteer to coach, keep score, and work in the concession stand.

Games-

1-How long is this season? The season runs from around May 1st until June 30th and each team will play 12-15 games.  Games are typically played on weeknights.

2-Where are the games played?  All games are played at the Super Block. The entrance to the Superblock is located at the east side of the intersection of Lewis Lane & College Street.

3-The weather looks bad, is my game being played today? The decision to cancel games will be made at least 30 minutes prior to the start of each game. Check our website (facebook and news feed at the bottom of our page).  Only the field director or a CJS board member may cancel games.

3-My games were cancelled because of bad weather. Will the games be rescheduled? We schedule 15 games in hopes to play at least 12. If your team has more than 3 rainouts, then you can expect a make up.

Uniforms & Equipment-

1-Does my child need any special equipment to play baseball/softball? Every player is required to bring  a mitt.   We encourage players to wear cleats but they are not required. Bats and helmets will be provided. But, feel free to have your child bring his or her own.  Your coach will provide you with the team shirt and hat.

You will also want to send a plastic water bottle (no glass is allowed on Park District Property) with your child to each practice and game so they stay properly hydrated.   During games, we encourage you to visit our concession stand. All of the proceeds are used to purchase equipment, pay umps, lights, etc.

2-What is provided in terms of a uniform? Your child will receive a team shirt. Coaches will distribute these.

Baseball/softball umpires-

1- I would like to  become an umpire. Who should I contact?
Please click on the Umpire Ref Information link above

2-The umpire at my child's game made several bad calls. How can I complain? Most of our umpires are young adults.  As with any sport there will be, or what might appear to be, a bad call from time-to-time. Under no circumstance is a parent, coach or even player permitted to abuse, verbally or physically, any of the umpires. Any abuse will not be tolerated. If you feel a umpire’s performance or conduct is in doubt, wait until the game has ended and report the incident, calmly, to your coach, League Commissioner or our Officials Officer.  Input from coaches and parents (calm and rational input) are taken seriously and reviewed by the appropriate board members.
